2008 Alex Gordon Game Worn Kansas City Royals "Throwback" Negro League Uniform. The Royals honored the storied Kansas City Monarchs on June 22, 2008, sporting the last Negro League style worn by Jackie Robinson prior to his affiliation with the Dodgers franchise. What a game it was too, with the hometown crew rallying from a seven-run deficit to win eleven to ten over the visiting San Francisco Giants, the second largest comeback in franchise history. Presented is third baseman Alex Gordon's uniform worn that day, a classic pinstriped style featuring a bold "KC" on the chest and his number "4" on verso, signed in 8/10 silver sharpie. Jersey tagging is at lower left front tail, "AIS [size] 48." Wear is evident, but the matching pants are truly filthy with infield clay, similarly tagged at interior waistband with an embroidered "4" for Gordon attribution. Size 36. History and drama for the cost of one winning bid. LOA from Heritage Auctions. Pre-certified by PSA/DNA.
