    Description

2007 Derek Jeter Game Worn Batting Helmet. A second consecutive Silver Slugger season for the most beloved of current Yankees, the superstar shortstop posted an impressive .322 average on the strength of 206 hits to keep pace with Pete Rose as the only player with even an outside shot at dethroning the Hit King. Even if the Captain never makes it to 4,257, he's a lock for the Hall of Fame at this point, and you can bet that Cooperstown would love to get its hands on this coveted rarity, the only batting helmet supplied to official Yankees game used marketer Steiner Sports for the 2007 season.

The helmet shows fantastic use, with exterior scuffing throughout and sweaty wear to the interior that has caused the padding on the foam rubber to separate. Crusty pine tar thumbprints under the visor likewise suggest an active life. The "NY" logo and number "2" decals were replaced for the playoff television cameras, making them "pop" even more from the dark navy shell. Decals noting the "7 1/4" size, the "Rawlings" label and safety warning appear inside. Included, of course, is the Steiner paperwork with matching holographic serialized stickers to assure authenticity. LOA from Steiner Sports. Guide Value or Estimate: $6,000 - $8,000.
