    Description

2004 Sammy Sosa Game Worn Chicago Cubs Jersey, Cubs Team Letter. Sammy Sosa helped elevated the entire city of Chicago when he took them with him on his march to Roger Maris' home run record. Nightly headlines focused on the battle between Mark McGwire and Sosa for single season home run supremacy. Worn by Sosa during his last year in the Windy City is this "Majestic [size] 48" jersey. Authenticated with a letter of provenance from the Cubs, the jersey shows light wear. Both sleeve are elasticized, a practice adopted by Sosa during this time period. Worth special mention is the captain's "C" which is affixed on the left sleeve. "Sosa 21" is administered to the reverse. Sewn in the tail is a Majestic label and size indicator. Majestic's "0062" inventory code is featured inside. Letter of provenance from the Chicago Cubs. SCDA A10. LOA from Heritage Auctions.
