    Description

2004 Mel Stottlemyre Batting Practice Worn Jersey from Japanese Exhibition. Lifetime Yankee Mel Stottlemyre served as the team's pitching coach for ten years starting in 1995, and here we present a unique exemplar of his game-worn gear. Major League Baseball held a special exhibition to begin the 2004 season, holding the opening series between the Yankees and Devil Rays in Japan. The electronics company Ricoh sponsored the affair, earning the right to place a sleeve patch with their logo on each batting practice jersey and game uniform. That season marked the first time that MLB allowed for corporate sponsorship on uniforms.
