2004 Jason Varitek Game Worn Boston Red Sox Jersey. If David Ortiz and Manny Ramirez were the heart of the 2004 Boston Red Sox, Jason Varitek was the soul. The well-respected backstop was thought of so highly that the team named him captain after he signed a contract extension in 2005. To date, only two other men have had such a status bestowed upon them as a Red Sox - Carl Yastrzemski and Jim Rice.

Varitek donned this [size] "50" jersey when he helped the Red Sox realize their World Series dreams in 2004. Moderate superstar wear is showcased on this knit garment with fraying and puckering on the front "Red Sox" and reverse "33". "Varitek" is spaced across a nameplate. The tail includes these significant labels: "Russell Athletic," "2004" (computerized) year and size/fabric content. Varitek tagged a stellar blue sharpie signature near the tail tagging. LOA from Heritage Auctions. Pre-certified by PSA/DNA. Auction LOA from James Spence Authentication.
