    Description

2004 David Ortiz Game Worn Boston Red Sox Jersey. David Ortiz is the man most associated with the sudden turnaround of the Boston Red Sox organization. Mostly relegated as a backup because of his prolonged slumps in Minnesota, Ortiz found a permanent home in Boston in 2003. Worn by Big Papi when the Red Sox clinched that elusive World Series title is this "Russell Athletic [size] 52" home white knit jersey. Ample wear is shown with slight fraying and puckering on all the identifiers. "Red Sox" is correctly spaced across the front while "34" is found on back. Our guess is Ortiz will be the final member of the Red Sox to don these digits as the fan-favorite will most likely have his number retired at some point. LOA from Heritage Auctions.
