2002 Alex Rodriguez Game Worn Texas Rangers Jersey--57 Home Run Season. Many fans and sportswriters believed that A-Rod should have claimed his first MVP Award this season, with American League-topping numbers for home runs (57, a career-best), runs batted in (142) and total bases (389), but he was forced to settle for the runner-up prize to go along with his Silver Slugger and Gold Glove. Presented is an alternate blue jersey worn during that brilliant campaign, featuring quad-tone "Texas" tackle twill on the chest and "Rodriguez 3" on verso. Texas State flag patch on left sleeve. Lower left interior tail holds "Rawlings Authentic Collection" label with four flap tags: "2 Inch Extra Length, 1 Inch Extra Sleeve Length, 50, Set 3 2002." Wear is light but definite. Rodriguez provides double provenance in the form of a 9/10 blue sharpie signature on rear numeral notated "2002 Game Used," as well as supplying a signed letter of authenticity. Letter from Alex Rodriguez. LOA from Heritage Auctions.
