    Description

2001 Tony Gwynn Game Worn San Diego Padres Jersey. Gone but never forgotten is Tony Gwynn. The man who started and finished his career in the same city, a true rarity given the financial landscape of baseball today, Gwynn wrapped out hit after hit when he entertained the home crowd in this "Russell Athletic size 50" home jersey. This particular style was worn from 1998-01 but we can determine it was worn in '01 because of the MLB emblem on back. Light use, acceptable given Gwynn was marketing his game-worn jerseys at the time, is found on the white knit jersey. The team name and numbers are in two-color tackle twill while the other identifiers are single-color midnight navy. The left sleeve displays a team patch. A Russell Athletic tag is joined by a size/fabric label in the tail. Gwynn signed the reverse in 9/10 silver paint pen. LOA from Heritage Auctions. Full LOA from PSA/DNA. Auction LOA from SGC Authentic.
