2001 Mike Piazza Game Worn New York Mets Jersey - Great Catcher Wear.Update: This is a road jersey and not a home jersey.
We anticipate that any jersey worn by a major New York City star in the year 2001 will continue to rise in value as the impact of 9/11 sinks deeper and deeper into the social consciousness. The absence of the post-attack American flag on back pegs this road gamer to the blissful period before the world was changed forever, as the greatest offensive catcher in the game's history was earning his ninth consecutive Silver Slugger Award.
"New York 31" in classic blue and orange dominates the chest of this important piece, with "Piazza 31" taking up the rear. Team logo patch is affixed to the left sleeve. Interior tail tagging finds a "Rawlings Authentic Collection" label with "50" and "Set 1 2001" flap tags affixed at inside bottom. The jersey shows excellent catcher's use with rub marks on reverse, just below the MLB logo. Piazza signed the reverse and chipped in with a full name signature and "GU" inscription.
