2001 John Smoltz Game Worn Richmond Braves Jersey. The dreaded Tommy John surgery has been the death blow to many careers. John Smoltz had the surgery and reinvented himself. Following his surgery in 2000, Smoltz came back as a closer and ended up in the Hall of Fame. This "Wilson size 48" jersey saw action when Smoltz was on a rehab start with the Richmond Braves. The jersey shows light use. It appears that another nameplate was on this before Smoltz's was added. Light use, as expected, is featured on the two color number (39), team reference and arched NOB. A Wilson tag is joined by a fabric/size label in the collar. The left sleeve is decorated with a "100 Years Minor League Baseball" patch. One of the more unique Smoltz jerseys we have offered. LOA from Heritage Auctions.
