Description
2001 Barry Bonds Career Home Run #506 Game Worn Jersey. The controversial slugger was chasing the first of his two Home Run King crowns when he deposited a full count offering from Pittsburgh Pirates right hander into the left center field seats, 420 feet away. It would be the twelfth homer of his record-setting seventy-three that year, notched while wearing this grey roadster in support of his Giants squad. "San Francisco" is announced in Halloween coloring across the chest, with "Bonds 25" presented in the rear view. Team logo patch appears on left sleeve. A "Russell Athletic Authentic Collection" label is housed in the front left tail, below which we find Bonds' personal marketing company's authenticating patch, with "2001" designation. Bonds further authenticates his jersey with a 10/10 black sharpie signature on verso with the notation "HR 506." Wear is definite, and appropriately light for a "single event" shirt. Love him or hate him, there's no denying that Bonds ranks as one of the most supremely talented ballplayers of all time, and while he has become emblematic of the steroid controversy that hangs over the game, one could argue that he'll be seen as a "Shoeless Joe" type figure by future generations, which bodes very well for his investment outlook. In far more than pure numbers, Bonds' place in baseball history is etched in indelible ink LOA from Lou Lampson. LOA from PSA/DNA (autograph). LOA from James Spence Authentication (autograph).Auction Info
