Description
2001-02 Pedro Martinez Game Worn Boston Red Sox Jersey. Attendance was always up when it was Pedro Martinez's turn to toe the rubber. His mid-nineties fastball looked twice as fast given he had the finest curve ball of his time. Worn during the 2001 and '02 seasons is this ultimate representation of a quality Martinez gamer. Extensive use is shown on the button-up, which would have been used for the majority of at least one season. Remnants of where a 100 years American League patch once stood (from 2001) are still visible. The patch was removed and replaced with a Ted Williams memorial band and "9" remembrance number following the Splendid Splinter's death in July of '02. Puckering is equally distributed on the two-tone tackle twill identifiers. A custom triangular insert is fitted on the right arm as Martinez desired extra arm room. Sewn in the tail is a "Russell Athletic" manufacturer's tag, "2001" (computerized) label and two suspended tags: fabric content and "2" Extra Length." LOA from Heritage Auctions.Auction Info
