2000 Mike Matheny Game Worn St. Louis Cardinals Jersey - From First Gold Glove Season With Team Letter. Now this is what a heavily used catcher's jersey should look like. Before he assumed the role of skipper, Mike Matheny was one of the game's top backstops. Four times during his career Matheny garnered Gold Glove status. Matheny's first Gold Glove winning season of 2000 produced this "Rawlings [size] 48" road jersey. Heavy use is shown with pilling marks from the catcher's gear on the front, shoulders and back. We assume Matheny favored this jersey for a good portion of the road games. Authentication comes via a Cardinals Care letter. Sewn inside are three labels: "Rawlings" ("22 Clark" written in thin black marker), "Set 1 2000" and size. Matheny signed the reverse in 10/10 felt tip ink. Letter of provenance from Cardinals Care. Pre-certified by PSA/DNA. Auction LOA from James Spence Authentication.
