Description

1998 Mike Piazza Game Worn Los Angeles Dodgers Jersey. It's been widely reported that Piazza only got a shot at the Bigs as a favor from Tommy Lasorda to a Piazza family member, but those long odds paid off in a jackpot as the sturdy backstop would exceed those low initial expectations to earn Cooperstown immortality and a place in the debate to determine the greatest ever at the position. This road grey knit dates to the final thirty-seven games as a Dodger, as Piazza would be dealt very briefly to the Florida Marlins in 1998 before spending the bulk of that campaign with the New York Mets.

Classic style features "Dodgers" script across chest with number "31" in red tackle twill below, those digits repeated in larger format blue on rear beneath "Piazza" applied directly to jersey body sans plate. Patch on left sleeve celebrates forty years in Los Angeles. Interior tail reveals "Russell Athletic Diamond Collection [size] 50" label with "100% Polyester" and "2" Extra Length" flap tags anchored at lower seam. A "1998" year swatch rounds out the tagging. Appropriate catcher's wear evident. LOA from Heritage Auctions.
