    Description

1997 Tony Gwynn Hit #2,722 Game Worn & Signed San Diego Padres Jersey. Alicia and Tony Gwynn were way ahead of their time when they had the hit king change jerseys for specific hits during Mr. San Diego's run for 3,000. This "Russell Athletic size 50" jersey saw use when the Hall of Famer achieved hit #2,722 on August 1, 1997. A letter of provenance from Alicia Gwynn will serve as authentication. "2722 8/1/97" is written on the Rawlings size tag in the tail in black felt tip. A light stain is found on the back portion of the right shoulder. Light overall use shown. The team name and numbers are in tri-color tackle twill with "Gwynn" arched atop the back number. The right sleeve has a Jackie Robinson patch while the opposite side has a team patch. Gwynn signed the back in blue felt tip. COA from Alicia Gwynn. LOA from Heritage Auctions. Full LOA from PSA/DNA (autograph).
