    Description

1995 Cal Ripken, Jr. Game Worn, Signed Baltimore Orioles Jersey. Think about a 1941 DiMaggio jersey (or a Ted Williams, for that matter). A 1961 Maris, a 1939 Gehrig. One day this alternate black Orioles gamer will be seen in the same glowing light, if it isn't already. The year 1995 baseballs season will always bring Cal Ripken, Jr. to mind, and here we present a wonderful memento of that campaign. The Hall of Fame shortstop himself makes note of the magic with his 10/10 silver sharpie inscription on the chest, signing, "Cal Ripken, Jr., Iron Man, 5-30-82 - 9-6-95, '2131.'" The stunning aesthetics are almost an afterthought compared to the ideal historical positioning: "Orioles 8" in tri-tone tackle twill on the chest, and "Ripken 8" balancing the design on verso, bird logo patch on left sleeve. Lower left front tail holds "Russell Athletic Diamond Collection [size] 48" label with "100% Polyester" and "2" Extra Length" flap tags and a "95" strip tag below. Wear is solid throughout, a fitting tribute to the hardest working man in baseball. LOA from Heritage Auctions. Pre-certified by PSA/DNA (autograph).
