    Description

1992 Tony Pena Game Worn Boston Red Sox Jersey with Rare Memorial Patch. The widow of Hall of Fame executive Tom Yawkey maintained ownership of the Red Sox from his 1976 passing until her own in 1992, at which time the team honored Mrs. Yawkey with a memorial patch on left sleeve. We find an example of that rarity here, applied to the sleeve of a home white knit gamer worn by four-time Gold Glove catcher Pena. "Red Sox" adorns chest in classic red and navy font, with number "6" on verso. Lower left front tail holds "Russell Athletic Diamond Collection [size] 44" label with "100% Polyester" flap tag and "92" strip tag below. Solid game wear from the sport's most physically demanding position. LOA from Heritage Auctions.
