1990 Tony Gwynn Game Worn San Diego Padres Jersey, MEARS A10.UPDATE: This jersey was incorrectly identified as autographed in our printed catalog. It is not signed.
The salient facts on Tony Gwynn are these: He has a lifetime batting average of .338 (eleventh all-time for players who began careers after 1900), eight N.L. batting crowns (tied with Wagner and second only to Cobb), five Gold Gloves (making him a complete player), and his nickname is Mr. Padre (yes, he was loved!).
Gwynn wore this pinstriped jersey during the 1991 season with the Padres. The identifiers are in tri-color tackle twill and featured a drop shadow configuration for the team name. The NOB is sewn directly to the jersey and sits atop the retired numbers. The tail boasts a "Goodman & Sons size 50" tag. MEARS describes the wear as "heavy" in their evaluation.
