Description

1990 Tony Gwynn Game Worn & Signed San Diego Padres Jersey. The salient facts on Tony Gwynn are these: He has a lifetime batting average of .338 (eleventh all-time for players who began careers after 1900), eight N.L. batting crowns (tied with Wagner and second only to Cobb), five Gold Gloves (making him a complete player), and his nickname is Mr. Padre (yes, he was loved!).

Offered here is a Gwynn gamer from 1990, the last season when San Diego wore brown pinstripes. Six-button home white knit displays "Padres" blazing across the chest in interlocked cap script and "Gwynn 19" on the verso, all sewn-on in brown and orange drop-shadow tackle twill. "Rawlings" logo appears on the right sleeve with "Rawlings 48" and "Set 2 1990" tags in the tail. Furthermore, the front is signed "Tony Gwynn" in 9/10 vintage black sharpie. This mid-career exemplar exhibits light wear and is much rarer than the style he wore in the mid- to late 1990's. Full LOA from Beckett Authentication Services. LOA from Heritage Auctions. Pre-certified by PSA/DNA.
