1989 Kevin Mitchell World Series Game Worn San Francisco Giants Jersey with Team Letter & Purchased from Stamp--Photo Matched!UPDATE: Sports Investors Authentication has matched this jersey to 5/21 vs. Mets, an undated photo at Wrigley Field (Cubs) and probable matches to World Series Games One and Two.
Kevin Mitchell was all-world in 1989 as he led the Giants to the World Series. The burly outfielder won the NL MVP, home run crown and RBI title. The offered jersey saw action during the regular season and was also a part of World Series action which became known as the Earthquake series.
Highlighting the right sleeve is a World Series patch with a "Battle of the Bay" reference. "Purchased from San Francisco Giants" is stamped on the inside of the button path. A matching team letter with a reference to this being used in the World Series will also accompany. All of the identifiers show great use from games played. Worth special mention is a Bart Giamatti memorial band on the left sleeve. The popular commissioner died September 1, 1989 and the World Series teams honored the fallen leader.
