    Description

1987 Hank Aaron Game Worn Atlanta Braves Jersey - Organizational Jersey. Long after his playing days were behind him Hank Aaron was given employment by the Atlanta Braves in their front office. The team thought so highly of its signature star that a jersey was created just for him - just in case he felt the need to show a younger generation how to really hit a baseball. A letter of provenance, dated in 2000, confirms Aaron was issued a jersey each year by the team. While Aaron wasn't rostered or filling a coaching role, he did probably slip into this. Many teams bring their iconic figures to Spring Training to help guide the current roster. Light use is shown on the "Wilson [size] 44" button-up road jersey. Three labels appear in the tail: "Wilson" (JSA sticker affixed), size and "87" year swatch. Aaron graciously signed the reverse in 10/10 felt tip ink. Letter of provenance from Dr. Dominick Carfello. Auction LOA from James Spence Authentication. LOA from Heritage Auctions. Pre-certified by PSA/DNA.

The hammer price for my Mantle card significantly exceeded my admittedly conservative estimations, and I couldn't be more pleased.
