    Description

1987 Gary Carter Game Worn Signed New York Mets Jersey with Carter Signed Letter! The 1987 New York Mets just couldn't quite recapture their magic from the previous season. With virtually the same collection of talent, the team looked up to the Cardinals when the curtain fell on the regular season. Gary Carter did what he could to help the team defend its title. This "Rawlings size 44" jersey served Carter in 1987. The home white pinstripe pullover displays "Mets" scripted across the chest with "8" offset to the left, all in swanky blue/orange textured twill. "Carter" arched proudly on the verso with a large "8" centered directly below. Ribbed, blue neckline with thick, orange/blue elastic trim running from the neck opening down to the sleeve cuff. Each of the identifiers has softened and puckered from use. The inside features these labels: "Rawlings," "Set 1 1987," "87 1 8" and Rawlings size. A signed letter of authenticity from Carter is the cherry one top. Carter signed the front in 9/10 blue felt tip. Letter of provenance from Gary Carter. LOA from Heritage Auctions. Full LOA from PSA/DNA. Auction LOA from SGC Authentic.

The hammer price for my Mantle card significantly exceeded my admittedly conservative estimations, and I couldn't be more pleased.
