1987 Dave Winfield Game Worn New York Yankees Jersey. He was born on the day that Bobby Thomson launched the most famous home run in the history of the sport, and proceeded to smack 465 of his own during twenty-two seasons of Hall of Fame-quality play. Presented is a road grey knit worn while traveling with the '87 Yanks, featuring the classic block lettered "New York" across the chest and his number "31" on verso. Interior collar holds embroidered swatch announcing "Winfield 87 2," and lower left front tail is tagged "Wilson [size] 44." Solid wear evident. Jersey was originally sourced through a former Yankees front office employee and includes a photocopy of his letter of provenance listing this jersey and the Mattingly and Righetti representations likewise on offer in this Signature Auction. LOA from Heritage Auctions. Photocopy of letter of provenance from former Yankees front office employee.
