    Description

1986 Nolan Ryan Game Worn Houston Astros Jersey, MEARS A10. Perhaps no fashion statement in baseball history has evoked such a strong show of emotion as this unforgettable Astros style. But even those among us who believe that it was pure folly to stray from baseball's time-honored home whites and road greys couldn't possibly deny the appeal of this historic shirt, worn by the hard-throwing Texan strikeout king.

Ryan donned this classic Goodman & Sons road jersey when he notched a dozen wins in 1986. Even at age 39, Nolan Ryan could set down the opposition with ease. The Houston Astros advanced to postseason play only once during Ryan's run in the state he was born in. If the ball had bounced a little differently, the Astros could have been playing Boston in the Fall Classic.

Highlighting the right sleeve is a Silver Anniversary patch worn that one season. Acceptable superstar wear is shown with softening of the sewn on, two-color identifiers. Present in the tail is a "Goodman & Sons 44" label, which has puckered from launderings. While Ryan wore a number of jerseys and styles in his Hall of Fame career, this one ranks up there for sheer uniqueness. LOA from MEARS, A10. LOA from Heritage Auctions.
