1985 Rickey Henderson Game Worn New York Yankees Jersey with Pete Sheehy Black Armband. Considered by many to be the greatest leadoff hitter of all-time, Rickey Henderson still holds the Major League career records for most stolen bases, most runs scored, and most leadoff home runs. A twelve-time stolen base champion, ten-time All-Star, two-time World Series champion, and 1990 A.L. MVP, the Man of Steel was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 2009, garnering 94.8% of the first ballot vote.

Here we present his home white pinstripe jersey from his first season with the Yankees in 1985, when he placed third in the MVP balloting after hitting .314 and leading the league with eighty stolen bases and a career-high 146 runs scored.

The Yankees fabled intertwined "NY" logo and Rickey's number "24" appear on the left chest and verso, respectively, in midnight navy blue tackle twill. There is a "Wilson 42" label in the left tail and a rectangular white swatch in the collar which reports "Henderson 85 3" in blue chainlink. Best of all is the black armband sewn just above the cuff of the left sleeve to honor the passing of the great Pete Sheehy, who served at the Yankees clubhouse attendant for more than half a century. The jersey shows tremendous wear, including soiling remnants on the front from Henderson's trademark headfirst slides. LOA from Heritage Auctions.

The hammer price for my Mantle card significantly exceeded my admittedly conservative estimations, and I couldn't be more pleased.
