    Description

1984 Pete Rose Game Worn Montreal Expos Jersey. Charlie Hustle's excursion north of the border lasted just ninety-five games, making any relics from that brief Montreal Royals tenure a tough commodity in the collecting world, certainly the rarest of all Rose gamers. Here we present a gorgeous road blue knit worn by the Hit King as a member of the now defunct franchise in the days surrounding his indoctrination into Ty Cobb's 4,000 Hit Club. The chest announces "14 expos" in red tackle twill, with a tri-tone team logo "M" just above. Verso provides the boldly fonted "Rose 14." Proper "Rawlings [size] 42" label is affixed at interior collar, and dual 1983 tagging appears at interior lower left tail, clearly indicating that the jersey was carried over for use by Rose the following season. Light but definite wear is evident, appropriate for an abridged season's use. Perfect black sharpie inscription on the jersey front makes note of the milestone reached as an Expo, but is not meant to suggest that this is the jersey worn for the feat, as that game was at home. LOA from Heritage Auctions. Auction LOA from James Spence Authentication (autograph). Pre-certified by PSA/DNA (autograph).
