1983 Terry Puhl Game Worn Houston Astros Jersey. A fleet-footed slap hitter, Terry Puhl hit a solid .280 over his fifteen Major League seasons and was elected to play in the All-Star Game as a rookie.

The exemplar on offer here dates from his 1983 campaign when he batted .292. One of the most unique baseball knits ever conceived, the famed 'rainbow style" remains highly coveted by uniform collectors. A home white/orange pullover, the jersey displays the identifiers "Astros" and "Puhl 2," all sewn-on in midnight navy tackle twill, with a large Texas star screened on the front, blue collar trim, and horizontal rainbow striping around the torso and arms. Correct tagging in the tail includes two Medalist Sand-Knit labels (for size "42" and exclusivity), plus a white swatch stamped "83 42." The jersey exhibits substantial wear from game use. LOA from Heritage Auctions.

The hammer price for my Mantle card significantly exceeded my admittedly conservative estimations, and I couldn't be more pleased.
