    Description

1983 Cal Ripken, Jr. Game Worn & Signed Baltimore Orioles Jersey, MEARS A10--MVP & World Championship Season!

UPDATE: MEARS will be supplying a letter of authenticity assessing this jersey at a grade of A10.

Few players in history have enjoyed as auspicious a Major League adolescence as this man, who followed up on his 1982 American League Rookie of the Year honors with an MVP Award the following season, one which would end in World Championship glory for the Baltimore Orioles. Young Cal's 1983 stat line thunders with the bold ink of Junior Circuit supremacy, with league-topping tallies in hits (211), doubles (47), runs (121) and, of course, appearances (162).

Thus it is no overstatement to characterize this rare and beautiful orange knit pullover alternate jersey as one of the finest to emerge from the Iron Man's personal wardrobe. The garment exhibits the solid wear one would expect from the game's most dependable employee, with the "Wilson [size] 44" label in the collar nicely softened by sweat. "Orioles 8" and "Ripken 8" adorn front and verso respectively, and a proper "83 1" embroidered swatch is affixed at lower left exterior tail.

Ripken autographs each side of the garment in 9/10 black sharpie, enhancing each signature respectively with the season's two historic achievements: "1983 A.L. MVP" and "1983 World Champions." One of the best knits we've had the privilege to offer. LOA from MEARS, A10. LOA from Heritage Auctions. Full LOA from PSA/DNA (autograph). Full LOA from SGC Authentic (autograph).
