    Description

1982 Robin Yount Game Worn & Signed Milwaukee Brewers Jersey with Player Letter, MEARS A10.

UPDATE: This lot will be accompanied by a full LOA from PSA/DNA for the autograph.

Ask any Milwaukee Brewers fan about their favorite season and 1982 will undoubtedly be the answer. Harvey Kuenn and his Wallbangers won the American League title and just ran out of gas in Game Seven of the World Series. But the memories generated that season will never dissipate.

The man at the center of the Brewers offense was Robin Yount. His magical season included MVP and Gold Glove awards. We checked the archives and could find only a powder blue road jersey ($9,400) and another home jersey of from his big year. What sets this "Sand Knit size 40" jersey apart from the rest is that it is sourced directly from Yount's personal collection. MEARS graded the white pullover, with blue pinstripes, a perfect A10. Yount's letter of authenticity will also be included. "Brewers 19" is announced across the front in two-color tackle twill while the reverse has "19" centered. The numbers have puckered and frayed from launderings and diamond action. The Brewers exclusivity tag is glue affixed while the size tag is sewn nearby. The rear interior has an "82 40" cloth tag but not Yount's name. The MEARS letter notes the following: "No points were deducted for the missing name on the strip tag. This is assessed as a tagging anomaly, and the uniform should not be penalized for being produced in this manner, especially since the provenance offered is reasonable and verifiably traced directly back to Robin Yount."

Very few 1982 Brewers gamers have made their way to the auction block. Most are proudly displayed in personal collections and will never be sold. Yount signed the front in 10/10 black felt tip to seal the deal. Possibly the most significant Yount gamer from the team's signature season. LOA from MEARS A10. Letter of provenance from Robin Yount.
