Description

1982 Dave Winfield Game Worn New York Yankees Jersey. Born on one of the most memorable days in baseball history, that of Bobby Thomson's "Shot Heard 'round the World," Dave Winfield seemed destined for diamond greatness from the beginning. In 1981, George Steinbrenner pinned the future success of his team when he signed Winfield to a then-record 10-year, $23 million dollar contract. During his tenure in New York, Winfield was one of baseball's top run producers and earned five Silver Sluggers in a nine career in pinstripes. This "Wilson size 44" home pinstriped saw action during the 1982 season and possibly the following year. The classic "NY" logo is applied in navy tackle twill over the heart, with number "31" similarly applied to reverse. Lower left front tail holds proper Wilson size label and the collar holds a "Winfield 82 3" denoting player, year and set number. The jersey shows good use throughout and is signed under the interlocking team emblem. LOA from Heritage Auctions. Full LOA from PSA/DNA. Auction LOA from SGC Authentic.
