Description

1981 Tony Perez Game Worn Boston Red Sox Jersey. While Rose and Bench grabbed the headlines for The Big Red Machine, Tony Perez went about his work quietly. Hall of Fame skipper Sparky Anderson mentioned on more than a few occasions that Perez was the heart and soul of the team which won three World Series titles in the 1970s. A seven-time All-Star and member of Cooperstown, Perez landed with the Red Sox in 1980 and experienced a resurgence. This "Wilson size 44" jersey was worn by Perez in 1981 when Boston took the show on the road. The team name is properly spaced in single-color midnight navy while the number is centered on back. Light to moderate use exhibited. The collar holds a Wilson size tag. "81" is located in the tail. LOA from Heritage Auctions.
