1981 Luis Tiant Game Worn Pittsburgh Pirates Uniform. While the preferred style of jersey for Luis Tiant would be with the Boston Red Sox, Tiant's career did include a season with the Pirates. Following a two-year stint with the Yankees, Tiant played for the Pirates in 1981. This mustard yellow "Wilson size 46" alternate jersey was worn during Tiant's one season in Pittsburgh. The pullover shows consistent wear with puckering and fraying on the two-tone tackle twill team name and numbers. "Tiant" is arched to a nameplate in single-color black tackle twill. A period Wilson tag is joined by a 10/10 autograph in the collar. The tail holds an "80" year swatch. The jersey was definitely carried over from the '80 season and used in '81. Also included are the matching pants, with black/white/black trim. A Wilson tag and "14 80 24" swatch occupy the waistline. Tiant signed the front in 9/10 felt tip. LOA from Heritage Auctions. Pre-certified by PSA/DNA. Auction LOA from SGC Authentic.
