    Description

1980 Gary Carter Game Worn Montreal Expos Jersey. Gone far too soon was Gary Carter. His infectious smile and hard-nosed play inspired the Expos and later Mets to on-field success.

Carter's talents helped him gain Cooperstown enshrinement in 2003. Although he was instrumental with the 1986 Mets World Series title, true baseball fans remember Carter playing north of the border during his formidable years. Worn by the backstop in 1980 as he clubbed 29 home runs and drove home 101 runs is this classic button-up. Acceptable wear is shown with slight puckering and numeral softness. "expos 8" and a team emblem highlight the front while "Carter 8" are displayed on the reverse. The knit white jersey has red and blue colors accentuating the shoulders/sleeves. Applied in the interior tail is a "Rawlings [size] 44" tag and suspended "Set 1 1980" flag tag. LOA from Heritage Auctions.
