1980 Alan Bannister Game Worn Chicago White Sox Uniform. Hall of Fame executive Bill Veeck, responsible for everything from a midget batter to Disco Demolition Night, exhibits his propensity for baseball weirdness one last time, retiring at the close of the 1980 season that this crazy uniform saw action. The blue mesh gamer was surely much more comfortable than the standard issue Big League jersey, but the massive collar and crazy fonts surely met with mixed reactions from the White Sox players. "Chicago" is spelled across the jersey front in white tackle twill, with "Bannister 7" on verso. "Capital Ace [size] 40" label inside collar holds "Set [illegible] 1980" flap tag at right seam. Matching "Capital Ace" tagging appears at interior waistband of included pants, though the exact player attribution is unclear here. LOA from Heritage Auctions.
