1979 Paul Mirabella Game Worn New York Yankees Uniform. Dreams of a World Championship three-peat would not come to fruition this season, but it was still one of the most exciting times to be a Yankees fan, when the Bronx was populated with huge personalities like Billy Martin and Reggie Jackson. Mirabella was part of the November 1978 trade which brought Dave Righetti into the pinstriped fold and sent Sparky Lyle down to Texas. We can peg his jersey to the early part of the season, as it lacks the Thurman Munson memorial band worn from early August to the conclusion of the year. "New York" is applied in classic navy and white format to the chest, with number "36" on verso. Collar holds embroidered "Mirabella 79 2" swatch. "Wilson [size] 44" label is in tail. Matching pants are attributed to Roy Staiger, with interior waistband holding embroidered swatch: "Staiger 79 2 22." Tagging: "Wilson [size] 35." Uniform exhibits solid wear throughout. LOA from Heritage Auctions.
