1978 Yogi Berra Game Worn New York Yankees Coach's Jersey. No Yankee in history has earned more World Championship rings than this man, who claimed his final hardware at the end of the season from which this pinstriped garment derives. The Yanks would defend their 1977 title this year, but the longest drought since Ruth earned the franchise's first World Championship lay just ahead.

This home knit jersey features the classic "NY" logo over the heart and Berra's retired number "8" on verso. Interior collar holds embroidered "Berra 78 1" swatch, while lower left front tail reveals "Wilson [size] 44" label. A tiny hole at back collar, about the size of a pin head, accounts for the sole deduction in MEARS' otherwise flawless rating. Solid wear evident. LOA from MEARS, A9.5. LOA from Heritage Auctions.
