    Description

1978 Wilbur Wood Game Worn Chicago White Sox Disco Style Jersey Bill Veeck, ever a promoter, gave the jersey collecting world one of its most unique designs when he brought back the open collar. Affectionately known as softball style, leisure suit or even pajama style, these unique jerseys were worn with shorts for a period of time. We could only imagine what the opposition was thinking when knuckle baller Wilbur Wood toed the rubber wearing this "Rawlings size 48" gamer. The identifiers and NOB have a shiny sheen to them and show consistent wear. Rawlings size and a "Set 1 1978" flag tags are found in the collar. Jersey styles will come and go, but nothing will compare to this, shall we say unique, style worn by the White Sox in the 1970's. LOA from Heritage Auctions.
