1978 Ted Williams Game Worn Boston Red Sox Coach's/Old Timers Day Jersey. Imagine being a spring training hopeful and having Teddy Ballgame himself giving you instructions. Intimidating may be too nice a word for such a predicament. Tagged for use in 1978 is this Williams Red Sox jersey. Our guess is it was worn in Spring Training or possibly at an Old Timer's type function as the jersey shows decent use. "Red Sox" is spelled across the front while Williams' familiar "9" is instituted on the reverse - each in two-color combination. Puckering and fraying all vouch for game use. Sewn into the collar are two labels "McAuliffe Uniform Corp." and "[size] 48." A "1978" year label and washing instructions designator are found in the tail. LOA from Heritage Auctions.Auction Info
