    Description

1978 Don Gullett Game Worn Jersey. Twice breaking the Top Ten in Cy Young voting during his career, Gullett wore this important New York Yankees home pinstriped jersey in World Championship season action as he gunned it in to Thurman Munson's mitt. In fact, the black armband on the left sleeve could only be in memory of the tragic catcher, suggesting that Gullett (who was on the Yankee roster until October of 1980 but made his last mound appearance in 1978) recycled this jersey for the following season. Classic "NY" logo over heart gives way to number "35" on verso. Embroidered strip inside collar reads, "Gullett 78 1." Tagging in tail: "Wilson [size] 44." Use is strong, transporting us back to the Bronx and those disco-dancing days of glory. SCD A10. LOA from Dan Knoll & Dave Bushing/ SCD Authentic.
