1978 Bob Horner Game Worn Atlanta Braves Rookie of the Year Jersey - Photo Matched. Bob Horner's Major League journey was rather unique. He was an All-Star and outstanding power source for the Atlanta Braves. In 1987, Major League teams colluded to remedy rising salaries and Horner was left without an employer. He would go to the Yakult Swallows in '87 before resurfacing with the Cardinals a year later. In 2004, Horner was part of suit which netted him millions as owners were judged to be guilty of collusion.

Horner burst onto the scene in 1978 and won the Rookie of the Year award. Despite never playing a day in the minors, Horner was ready for the rigors of the Major League game. His rookie campaign resulted in 23 homers and 63 RBI's in 89 games. This "Wilson size 46" beauty is photo matched to Getty Images 514906166 - namely the pinstripe alignment. The jersey has undergone a number change and is sourced from the family of Luke Appling. A letter from Appling's granddaughter will serve as authentication. The jersey shows great overall wear. A Wilson size tag is in the collar while the tail holds a year swatch. A pair of "Wilson size 40" pants and blue stirrups complete the listing. Appling's "54" is written inside. Letter of provenance from Tammy Dribble McLaughlin (Luke Appling's granddaughter). LOA from Heritage Auctions.
