1978-80 Harry Chappas Game Worn Chicago White Sox Jersey. If Bill Veeck liked one thing it was a good story. While he was a few feet taller than Eddie Gaedel, Harry Chappas drew the attention of palehose fans with his diminutive statue. Although he only played three seasons of big league baseball, Chappas was prominently featured on a Sports Illustrated cover during spring training of 1979. Affectionately known as the White Sox leisure suit jersey, this very "Rawlings [size] 38" pullover was worn by Chappas during his three year stint in Chicago. Light use is shown on the knit garment, with some fraying on the single-color white tackle twill identifiers. "Chicago" is expressed across the front while "Chappas 13" is formed on the reverse. A lone "Rawlings" manufacturer's tag is centered in the collar. LOA from Heritage Auctions.
