    Description

1977 Don Zimmer Game Worn Boston Red Sox Jersey. One of the last great baseball men, Zimmer began his Big League career as a player at Ebbets Field and continued to wear a uniform for the next half-century. Here we find a home white pullover worn as Popeye handled skipper duties for the Boston Red Sox. This classic knit shows appropriately managerial wear from the days of Yaz, Fisk and Rice, with "Red Sox" in Old English font across the chest and number "34" in identical red and black tackle twill on verso. "McAuliffe Uniform Corp" and size "44" tagging in collar is matched by "1977" year and washing instructions tagging in the tail. A fine artifact from an exciting time in American League baseball. LOA from Heritage Auctions.
