1977 Dave Winfield Game Worn San Diego Padres Jersey, MEARS A10. Born on one of the most memorable days in baseball history, that of Bobby Thomson's "Shot Heard 'round the World," Dave Winfield seemed destined for diamond greatness from the beginning. Presented here is a home white San Diego Padres jersey worn by the massive slugger during his first of twelve consecutive All-Star seasons."Padres 31" is applied in brown and yellow tackle twill to the chest of the knit pullover, with that now-retired numeral appearing in larger format on verso beneath a block-lettered "Winfield." Interior collar holds a proper "Wilson [size] 44" label, while lower left front tail reveals an embroidered swatch denoting jersey number and year: "31 77." Marvelous, consistent game wear is evident throughout, suggesting dozens of games of Hall of Fame-quality action. MEARS graded the beauty A10.
