1977 Cloyd Boyer Game Worn New York Yankees Coach's Jersey. Though not as successful a player as his brothers Ken and Clete, Cloyd Boyer was instrumental in leading the New York Yankees to back-to-back World Championships in the late 1970's as pitching coach for a star-studded roster including Hunter, Gossage and Guidry. This road grey gamer dates to the first of those two seasons of glory, as an embroidered swatch at interior collar reading, "Boyer 77 2" informs us. Name on front is a replacement after the jersey saw secondary wear in the minors, but the number "21" on verso is original. Lower left front tail is tagged, "Wilson [size] 42." Solid wear. The hammer price for my Mantle card significantly exceeded my admittedly conservative estimations, and I couldn't be more pleased.
