    Description

1977 Brooks Robinson Game Worn Baltimore Orioles Home Uniform. Robinson kept only two uniforms from his twenty-two seasons of service to the Baltimore Orioles, each from the final year of that long and fruitful partnership. Presented here is the home white version, quite likely the uniform he wore on September 18, 1977 as he was properly honored in an hour-long ceremony at Memorial Stadium entitled "Thanks, Brooks Day."

The knit button-down jersey utilizes the time-honored orange and black aesthetic, with "Orioles 5" applied to the chest in tackle twill, and "Robinson 5" adorning reverse. Lower right interior tail is tagged "Rawlings [size] 42," anchoring a flap tag that reports, "Set 1 1977." Matching pants hold "Rawlings [size] 36" label just below the rear waistband, with an embroidered swatch to the right that reads, "36 25 5 1 77."

Solid game wear is evident throughout the ensemble, bolstering the contention that this was likely Robinson's one and only home uniform from 1977, as he saw just twenty-four games of action during his final campaign. An extraordinarily important bookend to one of the greatest careers in American League history. Letter of provenance from Brooks Robinson.
