1976 Hank Aaron Game Worn Milwaukee Brewers Jersey. The greatest sluggers always seem to come back home in the end. Babe Ruth clubbed his last long balls in Boston. Willie Mays returned to the Big Apple sixteen seasons after the Giants headed west. And twenty-three years after Hammerin' Hank's debut with the Milwaukee Braves, the Home Run King hung up his thunderous bat in his old Wisconsin home. Here we present what may be the very last jersey worn by Aaron during his Hall of Fame playing career, closing out an inauspicious ninety-five loss season for the Brewers in front of fewer than 7,000 loyal fans. Two weeks earlier the slugging superstar had connected with his 755th and final career home run, once again in front of a small hometown crowd (3,455 attendance!), leaving open the possibility that this jersey was utilized during that game as well.

The home white knit features a blue and yellow tackle twill "Brewers" in a bold block lettered arch across the upper chest, with the since-retired number "44" positioned below. The unforgettable digits are repeated in larger font on verso. A "Wilson [size] 44" label in the collar continues the theme, with a "76" embroidered swatch just below announcing that important final season for one of the game's greatest long ball artists. Wear is solid throughout, suggesting that a considerable percentage of Aaron's forty-plus home games were contested in this shirt. Unquestionably an important jersey, with the potential of being one of the most significant to have reached the auction block in recent memory. LOA from Heritage Auctions.
