Description

1976 Fred Lynn Signed Game Worn Boston Red Sox Jersey. Fred Lynn took the baseball world by storm in 1975, turning in one of the greatest rookie seasons of all time, copping Rookie of the Year honors, a Gold Glove, and the A.L. MVP Award, while leading the Red Sox to the World Series. He had a seamless swing, could hit for both average and power, was fluid in the field, and only a fool challenged his throwing arm.

The jersey on offer here dates from Lynn's 1976 campaign when he hit .314 and was selected to one of his nine straight All-Star teams. The road gray knit pullover sports "Boston" blazing across the chest with "19" on the verso, all sewn on in red and blue tackle twill. Lynn signs on the front in NRMT blue sharpie. "McAuliffe" and "44" tags appear in the collar, with "1976" and a washing tag appears in the tail. The Massachusetts Bicentennial patch and Tom Yawkey black armband have been removed (probably for minor league use), with remnants of the latter clearly visible. LOA from Heritage Auctions. Pre-certified by PSA/DNA. Auction LOA from SGC Authentic.
