Description

1976 Don Sutton Game Worn Los Angeles Dodgers Jersey. The 1998 Hall of Fame inductee recorded twenty wins only once during his twenty-three-season career, and this home white knit derives from that dominant campaign, Sutton's fifth consecutive finish in the top five for Cy Young voting. The classic design features "Dodgers" in blue tackle twill script across the chest, and "Sutton 20" on verso, that number retired by the grateful franchise the same year of his Cooperstown enshrinement. Rare and desirable patch on the left sleeve celebrates a century of National League history, and allows us to provide the vintage reported in our lot title. Interior collar presents "W.A. Goodman & Sons [size] 42" manufacturer's label. Solid game wear suggests that this was Sutton's primary jersey for Chavez Ravine action. LOA from Heritage Auctions.
