1976 Dennis Eckersley Game Worn Cleveland Indians Jersey. Style and substance were not compromised, fashion-wise, when the Cleveland Indians took the field in the mid '70's. While the on-field product had a bit to be desired, the team had some of baseball's flashiest outfits. This ever-popular fire engine red "Wilson size 42" jersey was worn when Dennis Eckersley was just beginning his Hall of Fame career. Good use is exhibited on the pullover with light rippling to the team name. The right sleeve is decorated with a Cleveland Spirit of '76 patch (patch is a replica as the team's standard practice was to remove the original after the season) while a team disc patch occupies the opposite sleeve. "Indians" is arched across the chest, and "Eckersley 37" is formed on the reverse. A Wilson size label is sewn into the collar. "76" appears on a white swatch in the tail. We found other exemplars of Indians' jerseys with a similar white swatch in 1976. The preferred style for Indians collectors which screams 1970's. LOA from Heritage Auctions.
