Description
1976 Bruce Sutter Game Worn, Signed Chicago Cubs Rookie Jersey. His long overdue Hall of Fame induction thirty years after he sported this home white pinstriped knit has broadened considerably the collecting base for the presented lot, and ensured that the prognosis of the jersey as an investment piece is good. But rookie shirts are always the most coveted, and this is the first we've ever encountered from the season that provided Sutter with his first eighty-three innings of Big League action. Logo patch is affixed over heart, and another at the left sleeve, with number "42" on reverse in blue tackle twill. Interior collar is tagged "Wilson [size] 42" with embroidered swatch below announcing "42 76 1 44." A "76" embroidered year swatch appears at lower left front tail. Solid wear evident. Black sharpie signature on chest rates 9+/10. Please note that stitching patterns of 1976 patches on each sleeve are apparent--jersey was updated by team to current patching style for 1977 season.
